About Stem Cells

What is a stem cell?
A stem cell is a special type of cell your body naturally produces that can develop into different kinds of tissues. Think of them as your body’s built-in repair cells. Unlike most cells which have a single, fixed purpose, stem cells can support the development and maintenance of many tissue types.
When concentrated and delivered to affected areas, stem cells release growth factors and biological signals that may help coordinate your body’s natural repair processes. They also possess anti-inflammatory properties that may help modulate chronic inflammation contributing to various conditions.

At Vita Nova, we use autologous stem cells exclusively—cells harvested from your own body. This eliminates concerns about rejection, allergic reactions, or compatibility issues that can arise with donor cells or synthetic materials.

About Therapy

Is stem cell therapy performed in-office?
Yes. All procedures are performed in our Franklin, Tennessee office. Our in-house laboratory allows us to process and expand your cells on-site, maintaining complete quality control throughout the process.
Most patients experience mild to moderate discomfort, typically described as pressure and brief stinging sensations during injection. We take steps to ensure your comfort throughout the process, and most patients find the procedure tolerable.
The complete process—from initial cell collection through final injection—depends on your specific protocol. Some therapies can be completed in a single extended visit; others require two separate appointments. Our team will explain exactly what your therapy involves beforehand.
Response timelines vary considerably between patients and conditions. Some people notice changes within weeks; others require several months before experiencing meaningful benefit. We’re always honest about this variability and provide realistic expectations during your consultation.
